I am not sure if anyone has done a marquee quite the same way I did.

First I removed the piece of wood from the top area where the marquee goes.  Then I went to Ace hardware and got a piece of plexiglass cut to the size that I needed.

I had a friend design the front marquee (thanks Pete), and printed it out on Mylar using are large format color plotter at work.  Mylar is a film paper that is kind of see through.  I printed the same thing again to double up the marquee.  I did not want to much light shining through.

I added a fluorescent light a few inches back from the marquee and wired to a toggle switch on the right side of the cabinet.  I then simple screwed the marquee in place.  The finish sections talks about how I went about coving the edging to make it look nice.

My digital camera is very, very bad.  I thought I would take some crap picture with it anyway just to give you an idea.  You can see how with the light on, it only shines through the white spots.  The picture is really bad, the light only shines through on the stars and the white trim around arcadED.
